which is doubtless
painted green all over.

Has the mien of a college lecturer
(subject: divinity
or modern studies);
makes points that probably
look good on paper
but never come out quite right
as rhetoric

Needs to eat more steak,
drive a sports car,
drink exotic cocktails.
As none of these things are
ever going to happen,
he’s politically doomed,
like the Planet Earth,
which he loves and refers to
privately
as Mrs Snuggly.
