Members of The Fall were affected by a mysterious occurrence known as the Violent Unknown Event, or V.U.E. It caused immortality and disability. Victims learned new and peculiar languages. Some firmly believed in the responsibility of birds.
On this album, forty-eight biographies are presented of victims whose surnames begin with the letters F A L L in order to protect their real identity and in no way represent the actual ex members of The Fall whose names are merely mentioned in each track.
The characters and events depicted are entirely fictitious. Any similarity to names or incidents is entirely coincidental.
It is intended as a homage to Peter Greenaway’s film The Falls and Michael Nyman’s sound-track which is used throughout, along with extracts from the film. Songs by The Fall and ex-Fall members are also sampled as well as relevant tunes and pieces of music with ‘fall’ in them. So there.
